A few seasons back we were invited to go and pray over land that had been purchased and dedicated for the north campus of Beltway Park Church. During the worship, we were encouraged to join in the welcoming of the Holy Spirit power on the land and into the community. As I prayed I saw Jesus in his white robes welcoming all to this place and when I looked deeper I saw a great white horse rearing up at the corner of the property and pounding his hooves into the ground. Then running to the next corner of the property and rearing up, pounding his hooves, racing to the next corner and repeating the same on all 4 corners of the property. That was the basis for this series of oil paintings.

11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The One sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems, and He has a name written that no one knows but Himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which He is called is The Word of God. 14 And the armies of Heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

– Revelation 19:11-16

Jehovah-Nissi – we have a strong and available Heavenly Father who does not tolerate the spiritual bullies that try to prey on us.

24 The LORD bless you and keep you; 25 the LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;

 26 the LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. 

–Numbers 6:24-26 

Jesus who is Love, and who sees all the suffering, injustice and misery, that reign in this world; look mercifully upon the poor, the oppressed and all who are heavy laden with labor and sorrow. Fill our hearts with deep compassion for those who suffer, and hasten the coming of thy Kingdom of justice and truth.

8 He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people He will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken. 9 It will be said on that day,

    “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, that He might save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him; let us be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”  -Isaiah 25:8-9

16 But I will sing of Your strength; I will sing aloud of Your steadfast love in the morning. For You have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress. 17 O my Strength, I will sing praises to You, for You, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love. -Psalm 59:16-17

12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until His enemies should be made a footstool for His feet. 14 For by a single offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.     -Hebrews 10:12-13

19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that He opened for us through the curtain, that is, through His flesh, 21 and since we have a great Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. -Hebrews 10:19-25

Everything of God gets expressed in Him, so you can see and hear Him clearly. You don’t need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without Him. When you come to Him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything.

Big things are going on all around the world. God our Father, the King of the Universe is caring for people in harms way, guiding leaders of nations, unfolding prophecy in its right time... And yet we know our needs and our safety are important to Him! This is not a false security or false confidence but a knowing in our hearts and by experience that we are sheltered in the shadow of His wings. He is so all knowing, all powerful, all loving, all seeing that He can orchestrate the big events and the seemingly mundane daily events of our lives. Thank you God for the thoughts You have towards us, for the kind intentions of Your heart. Awaken each of us to Your Presence and activity in our lives. Fill us with a desperate hunger and thirst for bringing the Manifest Glory of God to our community.
