Nancy Capra

I am intrigued by the idea of color, light and movement combined with the power and authority of God. His creativity amazes me and I love His Word. By blending these elements of beauty and truth I aspire to create faith-based art.

The work must not only stay true to myself, but continue by affecting peoples’ perception of the world around them and God’s authority over it all. Art has given me the power not only to translate my vision into reality, but has also given me the ability to share it with others.

Seeking God's voice and wisdom and continuing to train my eye are lifelong pursuits.

About Me

I graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in Drama. My area of expertise was technical theatre with emphasis in props construction, costuming, and scenic painting. I returned to the classroom via McMurry University to receive my Elementary Education certification with a specialty in English. After college, I worked for Abilene ISD at Austin Elementary, North East ISD at Northwood Elementary, and substituted in Wylie ISD.  I have been a painting student of Evelyn Niblo and taken workshop classes from Carolyn Anderson, Lisa Forester Beach, and Nancy Medina - all master painters.
